Handmade rings are getting harder and harder to find. The jewellery industry is in trouble with the downturn in the economy and the public are just not spending on handmade rings – the larger retail jewellers are mass producing cheap rings and it seems that that is what the public wants at the moment – the result is that hand made jewellers are looking for employment in other sectors. Hand made jewellery is great if you are looking for originality and class – nice to wear a diamond ring that nobody else has!

If you do find a jeweller to hand make jewellery – he will be expensive – a top goldsmith earns his money with his hands – and needs to charge – so expect to pay for a fine piece of handmade jewellery – Re-modelling often has to be done by hand – the new way of making jewellery is buy computer modelling – which does not suit the remodeling of jewellery. Titanium rings for men are also handmade in South Africa.

Blood diamonds – what is the real truth! While blood diamonds or conflict diamonds, are a real scurge – the whole issue has taken the focus off of the real culprits in the blood diamond trade. We are not talking about a few African countries who’s despots fund their petty wars on the back of diamond sales – We are talking about the real bastards who have been sucking the planet and human beings for 100′s of years – yes – the corporates.

They have been sucking blood from everyone they come into contact with – through the whole supply chain of diamonds – starting with the earth, then the miners and then the customers. Masters at manipulation and deceit they have lead us to believe that diamond are rare and that we should be paying a fortune for them – all the while making huge profits at the expense of mother earth and her people.

Next time you buy a diamond – remember that ALL DIAMONDS ARE BLOOD DIAMONDS – there are no exceptions, there are no good diamond corporations, and that most of the people involved in the buying and selling of diamonds are making huge profits – from you and from the earth – and they give nothing back. They call it marketing – I call it lying – and we swear our love on such diamonds set into engagement rings and diamond eternity rings.
